On January 21st 2017, my daughter, husband and son (in utero) marched together among the Oakland crowds at the first year of the Women’s March.
The weeks before I had spent evenings painting my feelings into a design for a sign I had sketched out on the back of an old Amazon box. It was a therapeutic place to process my sadness and fear of the world my son would be born into.
At the march so many people asked me to print t-shirts, that shortly thereafter I did a limited t-shirt run fundraiser. I attended more marches and made more signs and more requests came in.
I taught myself how to design a website and set up an e-commerce site, and continued to create, and design, and march, and grow the babe in my belly, and parent a toddler with very different values than those in government now running the country.
4,314 orders later, my online shop now boasts cards and prints and t-shirts and canvas totes, and color-your own holiday cards. The store is the backbone of Radici Studios- the part that allows so many other parts to bloom and take flight.
Thank you to those who have been here since the beginning and shout out to those who are new. Without you all, I couldn’t keep creating the way I do. To show my appreciation, you can use code GRATITUDE at check out for 25% off everything from now until Saturday, November 25th.
