The spiral of upward growth
I think I’ve been doing a lot of growing recently.
Not a very conclusive statement, I know, but it’s a more honest one than asserting- Wow- I’ve really learned a lot about myself in these last couple of months, it’s been so insightful and enlightening.
I’m still in a more murky, mucky place with it all.
Someone once described growth to me as an upward spiral. I love this image. It helps makes sense of all the ways we can feel like it feels like I revisit the same old stuff, the same old insecurities and doubts and fears and think “Didn’t I already learn this lesson!?”
The spiral that winds upwards, returns us to places we’ve been with a slightly different perspective and gives us opportunities to move through challenges in slightly different ways (or maybe significantly different ways).
Growth can be painful, exciting, uncomfortable or inspiring and there are no shortage of opportunities to try out all kinds of different ways of reacting to it.
We see the fancy, shiny version of other people’s growth, the part we choose to share after everything feels clearer, when the story feels more collected and the ends have been neatly tied off. But the part that exists in the dark murky soil, the part that twists and turns and runs into a dead end, is often so hidden.
I’ve been working on a lot of new stuff. New materials and new ideas and new ideas that dig deeper into old ideas. It’s unearthed lots of old feelings but I am seeing them in a slightly different light.
I’m excited to share with you the new image for this month’s theme of Growth. It’s coming to you in a completely new format that I’ve been leaning into. You’ll have to wait just one more week though cause it’s not quite ready yet to share.…. THE SUSPENSE!
Here’s toward spiraling upward individually -and here’s to enough of us committing individually that it impacts the collective.
Here’s to heart centered evolution. We need it.
Take care all,
Jen
