January's best things
What kept me going in a heartbreaking month
I’ve always loved January. It’s the calm after the holidays. It’s time outside in the elements and time to reflect on my hopes for the next year. It’s also my birthday month- today I turn 46!
But this January has been especially rough. So many terrible things happening to good people…..which makes seeking out the beauty of the world feel that much more important. Art, music, theater, movies- it’s how I digest, understand, and feel connected in times that feel heartbreaking, scary, and overwhelming.
Below is a round up of the best things I watched, listened to, or experienced this month for subscribers. Paid subscribers help support my ability to make more art, but I know it’s not doable for everyone- so I’m happy to comp your subscription if you are wanting access but can’t afford to subscribe - just message me- no questions asked.
And before you hit the paywall below-I’m offering everyone 30% off the shop for my birthday today with code BIRTHDAY30!
Without further ado, here are things that have inspired me, given me faith in humanity, and helped me make sense of this moment in time:
